From Whitcomb’s analysis of Garth Guessman’s detailed interview notes, of the four eyewitnesses who made choices from among many silhouettes of birds, bats, and pterosaurs, only two of the four were reliable. (One was using his knowledge of traditions; another saw no wings.) The two who were using their own memory to choose a silhouette chose the Sordes Pilosus, a Rhamphorhynchoid (long-tailed) pterosaur.

One of these two, Jonah Jim supervised a sketch that Garth Guessman drew for him. It confirms that Jonah Jim saw something similar to a Sordes Pilosus in general body proportions.
